Oxfords With A Neon Twist Color The Summer
When selecting an outfit, men may focus on the fit of their shirts, the tailoring of their slacks, or the sizing of their collars. But footwear adds another element that creates the finishing touch to every man’s look. Summer 2012 has brought some new looks to men’s shoes that play on traditional styles.

This look was originally reintroduced with Jil Sander’s 2011 Spring collection that was full of wild and crazy neon. If you’re not afraid of color, combine the traditional oxford style with the popular neon trend. While oxfords traditionally feature neutral colors, the soles will provide an element of whimsy to a look that is usually conservative. It’s a quick way to turn something ordinary into something unique.
For those of you that may not feel as comfortable with bold colors, pair your dark oxfords with a bright shoelace (electric blue and neon yellow seem to be most popular). This look will give you a chance to stand out in a very subtle way; it’s not as bold as the neon sole, but it still adds an element of flair and style. This idea is particularly versatile because you can always switch back to the original laces if you get bored with the neon trend.
The neon-oxford style can be paired with many different looks. During the summer men have a multitude of options when it comes to pant styles. These shoes, in particular, look excellent with fitted dark-wash jeans or a well-tailored pair of khakis. Due to the classic lines of the shoe, they are appropriate for almost any occasion. The fashions of Summer 2012 have given men an opportunity to experiment with modern colors while maintaining an element of class and old-school masculinity.
